Because I Don’t Need To Write Every Day [Top 5 Top 5 Sunday]

I didn’t write yesterday. I knew I wasn’t going to write every day and yesterday was simply one of those days. I also gave myself a free pass on my birthday, not because it was my birthday, but because I wasn’t awake at home for more than an hour. So for those keeping score, I’m now carrying too losses. Which honestly isn’t so bad. Not only is my win percentage above .900, but there’s also no pressure at all to do it. Literally the only person who realized that I didn’t write yesterday was me. And maybe my mom. And possibly some stranger. But that’s it. Just so I don’t have to take another loss today, here’s some lists!

Sometimes, you just have to take the L. There are some days where I just know it’s going to be phoned in. I didn’t see the point of taking the limited free time out of my day to do something that didn’t feel fulfilling. And I feel like that was well justified.

Snaps are the ultimate pretzel. They’re compact, yet sturdy. They’re crispy, but not overwhelmingly loud. The size is symmetrical. Sometimes, they’re buttery. You can dip it into things with ease. And when you open the bag, they’re mostly intact. Miss me with the regular twist and Bavarian bullshit that breaks inside the packing. If I wanted chunks of random pretzel matter, I’d buy chunks of random pretzel matter. I think that exists. Maybe. Shut up.

This is something that has perplexed me for years. Why would something so free-flowing be put into a loosely glued bag? It’s like keeping gasoline in a watering can. Sure, it’s a container that fits it, but there’s a better way of containing it.
