Day 036: That Skyline Lovin’

It was a Friday night. The feeling, it was alright. I looked her in the eye. She gave me a look back. One that she hadn’t given me in ages. Those hungry eyes. We had 20 minutes to kill before the game started. Just enough time. In that moment, I knew what she wanted. She was ready to devour. It’s dinner time, babehh.

But first, I had to get some hot water running. Draw a little bath. The ol’ wiener bath, you know what I’m sayin’? It really gets the franks nice and warm. That’s important. Nobody wants cold meat. Then I grabbed that can. You know the one. I shook it real good and gave it a slow open. Perfect. The brown sauce has just the right consistency. Not too chunky, not too wet. I poured it into a bowl with ease and put it in the warmer. Save it for later.

I could tell she was getting excited. I grabbed that chunk and went to town on it. Back and forth, back and forth. Grinding the night away. I started out delicately and then started grinding harder and harder. But that wasn’t it. The job wasn’t done. I knew it and she knew it. We both licked our lips as I grabbed those buns and spread them open ever so delicately. You don’t wanna spread them too quick. The last thing you want to do is tear it. One after another, I opened all them buns.

I know what you’re thinking. That’s too many buns. But trust me, when you’re hungry like we are, one hot dog isn’t enough. Carefully, I drained the pot and placed the franks ever so delicately into each bun. Then, I got the Skyline Chili out of the microwave. I carefully served it on top of the dogs, trying not to make a mess. Then I topped it with some freshly shredded cheddar. Pop the plate in the microwave for 37 seconds and voila! You have Coze’s patented Skyline Dogs!

Bon Appétit.
